The Andrew E. Crapol Scholarship: Nicolas Abrigo
We're very proud to announce that Nicolas Abrigo was the second recipient of the Andrew E. Crapol Scholarship for men's soccer at William & Mary. All donations made to the fund and CRAPOLFEST fundraising go to this scholarship.
SENIOR YEAR (2011)
Third-Team All-Region ... First-Team All-CAA ... First-Team VaSID All-State ... Appeared and started in all 19 matches for the Tribe ... Led the team in points with 20 and goals with nine ... Also had a pair of assists ... Ranked first in the CAA with five game-winning goals, which also ranked him in a tie for third on W&M's single-season list ... Tied for seventh in the league in goals and ninth in points ... Scored on a penalty kick in the Tribe's loss to Georgia State in the CAA Tournament ... Tallied an assist in the College's 3-2, overtime win over Northeastern ... Netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner in overtime, in the College's 3-2 win over Hofstra ... Appeared in 21 matches, earning 18 starts ... Finished the season with seven goals and two assists ... Second on the team win both goals and points (16) ... Named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week on November 15 ... Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week on November 15 ... Named CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player ... Recorded a hat trick, including the match-winner, in the Tribe's 4-0 win over Hofstra in the CAA Championship match ... Scored the game-winning goal for the College with 24 seconds left in the second overtime to propel W&M to the CAA Championship with a 1-0 win over Delaware ... Tallied an assist in the Tribe's 2-1 overtime win at Northeastern ... Scored the game-winning goal in overtime to clinch the CAA regular-season title for the Tribe in its 1-0 victory over UNC Wilmington ... Assisted on Alan Koger's game-winning goal against VCU ... FRESHMAN YEAR (2008)
Started six matches as a freshman and appeared in 18 games in the midfield ... Put six shots on goal in eight attempts, including two in a 3-1 victory over the University of Central Florida (9/12) ... Opposing teams held to one goal in all but one of Abrigo’s starts ... Earned the Best Rookie Award for the 2008 season ... HIGH SCHOOL Earned VISAA All-State selection as a sophomore and a junior … Garnered all-conference distinction during each of his four seasons … Received the Flint Hill Husky Award as a sophomore in 2006 … Named the MVP at the Maroon & Black Invitational tournament at Episcopal High School in 2006 … Played four years in the central midfield position for Chris Brown at Flint Hill … Team captain during each of his final three seasons at Flint Hill … Score more than 40 career goals and helped the program to its second conference championship and its first three state final four appearances … Played club soccer fro the SWYCA Sidekicks and helped his team to VYSA State Cup Championships in 2002, 2005 and 2006 … Sidekicks were State Cup Finalists in 2003 and 2004 … Also played club soccer with the MSC Dragons … Corpus Christi Mission Volunteer in community outreach programs … A member of the Honor Council and Spanish Club at Flint Hill …

Son of Gonzalo and Carmen Arenas-Abrigo … His father, Gonzalo, played professionally in Chile with Colo Colo for four years … Intends to major in chemistry at the College.
